Growing up in Florida, I would go to Universal Studios Orlando on a regular basis. What was an annual trip for most was my casual weekend getaway multiple times a year because I had the luxury of living so close. Though I had a blast every time, it was still Florida and not exactly a "vacation". Fast forward to December of 2017, I had the pleasure of going to Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure, but this timeI stayed at one of the most beautiful resorts I've ever been to - the Loews Royal Pacific Resort at Universal Orlando. And I assure you, it made a world of difference in my overall Orlando experience.
We were fortunate enough to visit the resort during the most beautiful time of year - Christmas! Though the resort is amazing on its own, it was extra beautiful with the giant Christmas tree and the stunning decorations.
We all know first impressions are everything, and Loews Royal Pacific Resort does not disappoint. In order to enter the resort, you have to cross this wooden bridge shown above.
Wait for it...
And this breathtaking tropical view is first thing you see. One second you're in Florida and before you know it, you're in the islands of Hawaii. Needless to say I was blown away, as no other resort offers such an exquisite entrance. But it gets better...
The Loews Royal Pacific Resortis inspired by Hawaii, and you really do feel like you're there. All of the staff are dressed in Hawaiian-themed attire and every guest is greeted with a lay. Aside from the beautiful surroundings, my absolute favorite thing about the resort is the customer service. I've traveled many places, but Loews without a doubt takes the cake. Everyone is extremely polite, friendly and helpful. The best part? Instead of calling the operator if you need anything, you can give them permission to send you texts so if you need anything, no matter what it is, you're just a text away. It's basically like your own assistant during your entire stay at the resort.
Another incredible perk of staying at any of the Loews resorts is that every guest in your party (who is included in your room reservations) will get a complimentary unlimited express pass for both the Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure parks during their entire stay! Each unlimited express pass is valued at $89 per person per day, so if you plan on going to either park, you'll save so much money just by stay at any of the Loews resorts!
Here's a list of other unique amenities they offer hotel guests:
- Complimentary Wifi
- 24-Hour Room Service
- Car Rentals On-Site
- Spa - yes please!
- Early Park Admission† to The Wizarding World of Harry Potter and Universal’s Volcano Bay (Now Open) one hour before the theme park opens (valid theme park admission required)
- Complimentary water taxis, shuttle buses and walking path to the theme parks and Universal CityWalk
- Complimentary delivery of merchandise purchased throughout the resort to your hotel
- Priority seating at select restaurants throughout the resort
- Business Center (for the workaholics *guilty*)
And much more!
The morning after we arrived, we explored the resort and, of course, I couldn't help but notice the amazing pool. With luxurious lounge chairs resting on the sand, you feel like your getting kissed by the sun on the beautiful beaches of Hawaii. Not to mention they have two huge jacuzzis. I was thrilled because one of the things I dislike about many hotels is they don't have jacuzzis. I mean, vacation / jacuzzi / massage jets... they go hand-in-hand. It's simply a must.
In the heart of the Loews Royal Pacific Resortis this stunning courtyard with these unique statues. A picture doesn't do it justice.
And finally we were off to the Universal Studios park! For those of you who haven't been in a while, it's completely different than it used to be, but certainly an improvement! Almost all of the rides in both parks are 4-D, but they're a combination of an actual ride itself with 4-D. It's hard to explain until you see it for yourself, but one thing is for sure... it's unlike anything you've experienced, guaranteed.
Truth be told, whenever I go to theme parks I rarely eat at any of their restaurants because my goal is obviously to ride as many rides as possible, so I usually just grab something quick and easy. But this time was different. I wanted to really experience everything the park had to offer, unlike I ever have before, so we stopped by The Cowfish Sushi Burger Bar in Universal CityWalk. Sushi is my favorite food of all time so I was thrilled to find that they have excellent, high-quality sushi. I'll definitely be dining there from now on.
On the last evening of our stay at the Loews Royal Pacific Resort, we got to experience craft beer pairings from Cigar City Brewing with a five-course dinner. Needless to say, it was phenomenal.
I finished my stay off with a dip in the jacuzzi and it was the cherry op top to the ultimate Universal Orlando experience. Thank you, Loews Royal Pacific Resort for having me! I will definitely be back soon!
