By now, I think it's safe to call myself a pro-shopper. Between staying up-to-date with the latest trends, browsing stores on the weekly both in-person and the web, as well as other fashion blogs, magazines and what have you, I pretty much know what's out there. It's my job. Not to mention I worked in high-end retail for many years where I learned all the ins-and-outs. With that said, I feel like I've seen it all and more importantly, I know what to look for when I'm shopping. Here and there, I splurge on certain pieces I either really want (whether or not it's practical) or an investment piece - like these Christian Louboutin So Kate stilettos.
The majority of the time, my main goal is to find quality pieces that are still current with the trends, but will remain timeless for the years to come. Speaking of which, I recently discovered St. Frock. They're an Australian-based boutique that carries the absolute CUTEST selection of affordable clothing. From clothing of every type to accessories, as well as dresses for every occasion from casual to work, cocktail, maternity and even for bridesmaids,St. Frockhas got you covered.
Let's talk about my dress.
I kid you not, the day I received this Charis Dress by St. Frock, I wore it that very night to a dressy function with a pair of black strappy heels from Stuart Weitzman and received SO many compliments. Everyone couldn't believe this dress is under $60!That's right! It's elegant, chic and slightly conservative with the sleeves, but can still pass as sexy because it shows lots of leg #meowww... It all depends on how you style it!
That same week, I wore this dresswith a pair of flat sandals to
casually stroll around town and go to lunch. The best part? My arms were covered so I wasn't freezing (I'm always that friend who's cold...). If you're feeling edgy, pair it with a cool leather jacket and a pair of suede over-the-knee boots for the winter. Dress it up or dress it down for any season...this dress has SO many possibilities.
One thing about this dress that I particularly swoon over is this waist tie detail. It adds an effortless appeal and you can style it many different ways. I opted for a single tie (as pictured) because I love the dramatic long fabric swaying in the wind as I walk, but you can also tie it in a bow, in the back with a bow... just get creative and have fun it! That's the beauty about fashion. There are no rules.
How amazing are these lines? Contrary to popular belief, I think long sleeves can be more sexy than short sleeves when done properly. And St. Frock hit this dress on the money. I think Audrey and Jackie O would be proud. There's something to be said about classic fits that leave a little something to the imagination... not something you see too often anymore.
How adorable is this nano tote by one of my favorite up-and-coming handbag brands, Strathberry?
