For the past week, everyone in South Florida has been preparing nonstop for Hurricane Irma – what was projected to be the most catastrophic hurricane in US history, aside from Hurricane Andrew back in 1992. Between scrambling to prepare our house to getting stuck in standstill traffic heading North to escape the storm and head to safety, it’s been a little crazy to say the least.
But good news! We are safe and turned this unfortunate event into a road trip in North Carolina where we stayed in a log cabin with a bunch of our friends overlooking the most beautiful view of the mountains. It was truly unlike anything I’ve seen before. Our home has little damage, but as for many others in Florida, they have severe flooding, many have lost everything, and some even lost their lives. Please keep us all in your prayers as we need it more than ever.
By now, you probably figured out that I’m skipping out on New York Fashion Week, which is currently happening this week. Fashion is always six months in advance, so all of the designers are showcasing their Spring 2018 collections, which is always the more popular of the two fashion weeks (February and September) since the collections are just so much prettier than fall. Think gorgeous prints, striking colors, and feminine, over-the-top silhouettes. The designer line-up is insanely awesome (better than February I noticed), but there was no way I was leaving all of my belongings and loved ones behind at home not being able to communicate with them. I was perfectly content packing up and going on a road trip with my family, which turned out to be better than expected.
To honor New York Fashion Week, today I’m sharing with you not one but THREE outfits I wore to Miami Swim Week. I’m over a month late to share this, I know, but this past month has been absolutely crazy as you can see. Soooo, here we go!
Lately, I’ve been digging wide-leg pants, and during Miami Swim Week that’s literally all I wore. For some reason, I’ve been gravitating towards neutrals and earth tones. In this first look, I’m featuring this amazing crop top by Storets with the dramatic bow detailing. I'm a true size xs/0, but I'm wearing a s/m for reference because that's the smallest they have in this top, and it's also available in black!
I paired it with these luscious, flowy pants by Vince which are unfortunately sold out, but I linked similar ones below. Similar here, here & here.
Side Note: I'm wearing my favorite strappy black Nudist heels by Stuart Weitzman. I always recommend wearing open-toe, minimal, strappy high heels with a wide-leg pant like this because the whole point is to not be able to see your shoes (who would have thought.) I've had them for years and they are still going strong. They are by far one of the best purchases I've ever made. For sizing purposes, go with your true size or if you're in-between, size down.
I’m sporting my Cult Gaia bag that’s been on repeat since I bought it. You’ve probably seen it everywhere, but it’s worth every penny since it literally matches everything no matter what style you’re going for. It’s diversity is unlike any bag I’ve owned, so if you’re looking to change up your wardrobe, I highly recommend investing in this bag. You won’t regret it, guaranteed. I have the small one for $128, but it also comes in a bigger size for $138.
I accessorized with this gorgeous Kendra Scott cuff bracelet in rose gold (also available in gold, silver and gunmetal.)
But let's not forget my fabulous braid courtesy of Drybar South Beach. They're not your typical salon where you get a full-service cut and style, but rather they only focus strictly on styling your hair when you're on-the-go. I can't tell you how many times people asked me if I did my own hair (I wish), but I opted for this style since it's unique, makes a statement and most importantly, keeps my hair out of my face (it was blazing hot in Miami during Swim Week, so this was a life saver.)
Not to mention these floral earringsby one of my new favorite statement jewelry brands, Ranjana Khan. P.S. I’m living for anything yellow or mustard color this season. These earrings are also available in multicolor (my favorite), fuchsia and blue.
If you're wondering about this fabulous location that we shot at, it's at the iconic 1 Hotel South Beach, specifically the 1 Rooftop. Here you can find the most AMAZING view of Miami Beach while sipping on your favorite cocktail by the most fabulous pool, courtesy of their restaurant, Watr At The 1 Rooftop.
From sushi to the best nachos I've ever had, Watr is definitely on my must-visit restaurant list whenever I visit the Miami area. With a flavorful fusion of Polynesian and Japanese-inspired cuisine, their food is exquisite both taste and presentation-wise, and you really get that unique gourmet experience topped off with the most fantastic view. Does it really get much better than that?
Next is this head-to-toe Club Monaco ensemble. This striped red, white and blue crop top(on sale)is so feminine with the extra long bow that that you can style many different ways - wrapped around multiple times like I did, tied in the back, or showcased as an oversized bow in the front. I opted for these gorgeous wide-leg pink culottes(on sale) and finished off the look with suede bow heels (similar here) to keep with the bow theme.
I told you I wasn't kidding about wearing this bag on repeat. This time, I styled it with this fun little pom pom tassel charm(on sale) to give it personality.
To keep with this season’s yellow-obsessed theme, I’m sporting a one-shoulder topby J.Crew in this stunning mango color (also available in white) paired with these orange sherbet-colored pants. They are unfortunately sold out because I bought them when they were on sale back in July, but I linked similar ones here.
I’m wearing my suede multicolor Daryn Moore heels to break up the yellow and tie in the color of my bag and accessories.
My floral cuff is from J.Crew from forever ago and my bag is by this amazing new brand, Strathberry, that is quickly catching on as one of the most coveted brands, and it’s on the more affordable side considering the excellent quality and chic design. I'm opted for the color "blush", but it comes in 25 different colors! Yes, you heard me! This is the micro-size bag, but it also comes in a midi size (medium) and a large size.
I’m wearing the same Ranjana Khan earrings as I did in outfit #1, but in the multicolor. These are my favorite pair from this collection and the color combo is just exquisite.
