I can't believe I'm saying this, but happy first day of fall!
Honestly, where did the time go? Although I'm still stuck in that summer mentality, I'm excited to finally pull out my fall clothes since we all know how much dust they collect year-round here in So Flo.
Truth be told, I've been patiently waiting to share this outfit featuring Mim & Ray handbagsto welcome the fall season! And I have to say, it takes the cake as my #1 favorite look shared on the blog!
But I'll let you be the judge of that...
Fall is known to be rather bland: black, neutrals... and that's about it. I say, that's boring, and why limit yourself? Sure, you want to be on trend, but you can still sport color in the more cooler seasons - specifically, jewel tones. Think deep, rich colors like midnight blue, emerald green, plum, merlot, and my favorite color this season, mustard/mango, as featured in today's look. But more on that later...
This cross body bag by Mim & Ray is the perfect everyday bag. Treat this olive green color as a neutral (they're calling it "dark green") as it beautifully pairs with any color and easily transitions from season to season. For the spring, this dark green bag can be paired with an all-white, blush or nude silk tank and wide-leg linen pant ensemble, and more deep colors in the fall/winter like today's outfit. The silver hardware adds posh, and it also comes in black, sand (nude), and camel (one of my faves.) See below & shop here:
Mim & Ray is a newly launched handbag brand based in Delray Beach, Florida and Philadelphia. I've featured them on the blog twice so far (here & here) and will be featuring a different bag of theirs every month! From conservative styles to fun, youthful designs, Mim & Ray has something for everyone of all ages. Not to mention the prices are extremely reasonable considering the high-quality fabrics they use, all of the intricate wool detailing that's incorporated into each bag, and of course, the fact that all of the bags are made in Italy, which is always a bonus! Definitely check out their fall collection. Guaranteed you'll fall in love with every piece!
Let's Talk Outfit Details, Shall We?
Take your time, catch your breath... I know you've been eyeing this leather jacket by IRO. Allow me to fill you in.
As previously mentioned, this mustard/mango color is my favorite color this fall season. I'm absolutely #obsessed. It's unique, unexpected, and let's be real... INCREDIBLE.
I'm most picky when it comes to leather jackets because 99% of the time, they're just missing something. Either the fit isn't right, it has too many zippers that junks it up, the fabric looks cheap, etc. And a quality leather jacket is always pricey, so you want to make sure it's perfect in every way, no exceptions. It's a commitment for sure, but also a necessary investment. I believe every woman should own a leather jacket. It's one of the most diverse staple pieces that can be worn many different ways and will last decades if properly cared for. It's worth every penny, but it has to be perfect.
With that said, this leather jacket passes by far the test and exceeds all of my expectations. The fit is impeccable and the color is yummy.
SIZING TIP: For reference, I'm a true xs/0, and I'm wearing a size 34. They use French sizing so I've converted them for you below:
Seriously, though. Does it get much better than this? These plaid shorts are by the one and only, Self-Portrait (one of my favorite contemporary designers.) I'm all about attention to detail, and Self-Portrait never disappoints. From the unique zipper placement to the lace-up bows on the sides... #dying. They have a punk rock vibe to them, while still maintaining a youthful, girly element with the ruffled pockets. #girlsruleboysdrool
I've featured these Stuart Weitzman suede boots many times on the blog, and they're 40% OFF! They're sold out nearly everywhere, but I linked them here.I'm wearing the "topo suede" color, but they also come in black, navy and charcoal grey suede, as well as black leather. I bought these years ago, wore them many times (even in the snow) and they're still going strong.
Why I this sale such a big deal?
Because these were one of the few signature styles that NEVER went on sale, yet they were the most coveted (that's always how it works.) The company has had this style for five years and wanted to update them, so they changed the name and gave it a block heel instead, which I absolutely love. You can shop the new version here, but if you go with the older version like I'm wearing, you can get the same exact thing for nearly half the price!
SIZING TIP: For reference, I'm a true size 7, and I'm wearing a 6.5. I recommend sizing down half a size, especially if you are in-between sizes.
