Happy Monday everyone! Today's look is extra special for a few reasons. 1.I never post swimwear on the blog (for obvious reasons - I need a tan...badly) 2. I'm featuring one of my favorite NEW handbag brands, Mim & Ray (and they're based in Florida, my home state #wootwoot) and 3.One of the designers, Jennifer Strogatz, is my dear friend. Not to mention her mom, Toby Strogatz, is also one of the designers. Talk about business partner goals! I'm all about teaming up with friends and like-minded creatives, because there's power in numbers. #girlbossesunite
I introduced Mim & Ray on the blog in June when they first launched with all of the juicy details! In case you missed it, read all about it here. Yes they're incredibly new, but are just getting started with a bright future ahead and so many amazing things to come!
A little summary about Mim & Ray... They are based in Philadelphia and Delray Beach, Florida (for all my locals), and unlike many businesses who are all about the profit, Mim & Rayis founded on giving back, something that's extremely important to me. Each bag creatively features wool panel detailing and varies by bag style, which is hand-knitted by a team of elderly ladies. Many of them are retired and living on social security, so this incredible company has given them a chance to earn extra income, as well as a new sense of community and purpose.
I'm wearing my favorite Mim & Ray bag, the Toby Tote, in this delicious "canyon suede" color. The wool paneling is actually on a separate wristlet that comes inside similar to this one. Two bags in one? Sign me up! All of their bags are available in multiple colors, most of which offer the option of silver or gold hardware. This bag is also available in black, navy, red and olive.
The style of this bag is so chic and classic, and anyone can wear it. That's the beauty of Mim & Ray bags. They're extremely diverse and there's something for everyone from teens to women and even elderly ladies. The mix of leather and suede is so brilliant, as this interesting and unexpected detail offers a stylish twist while still remaining classic.
Sure, suede isn't necessarily associated with summer and warm weather, but it's so subtle making it the perfect bag to effortlessly transition from season to season #winwin. This shade of brown is very resort and summer, but also perfect for fall and winter, which is why I wanted to showcase this bag wearing a swimsuit - to show you that suede can work in the summer because it totally can! I think the misconception is due to the fact that wearing any sort of suede is unbearable in the heat, but who said it can't be on your accessories? #makeyourownrules
