Summer is full of bikinis, maxi dresses, linen everything...the list goes on and on. But one of my favorite summer staples that unfortunately doesn't make every woman's closet checklist (though they should) are sheer dresses. It has nothing to do with women not loving this trend, because let's be honest... it's unexpected, underrated, and insanely chic. Some might assume it's too risqué for them and they could never pull it off, but that's 100% not true. If done properly, regardless of your shape or size, this look can still remain conservative and yes, you canrock it.
P.S. mymaxi dress is from VIPshop. From the floral print, to the subtle stripes and tiny navy bows, it's safe to say I'm obsessed. Not to mention I love how flowy the fabric is, as it's totally twirl-worthy. VIPshop is one of my favorite online stores with the cutest must-have pieces that is strictly dedicated to flash sale promotions, so there's always tons of daily deals that you don't want to miss!

First and foremost, everyone has different comfort levels in terms of how much skin they want to show. I'm a firm believer that your best accessory is confidence, so it's important to feel good in what you're wearing. Otherwise, you will be uncomfortable and that should never be the case. For me, I like to keep it classy always, but I'm not afraid to show skin as long as it's done tastefully.
The second thing to remember is no matter what type of clothing it is, the key is choosing a style that is flattering for your body type. Whether you're everyone tiny like me or blessed with curves, the style that everyone can pull off is a waistline that accentuates the smallest part of your waist, because every woman wants to show off what her mama gave her, whether it's a little or a lot. Luckily, my dressismeant to be more relaxed so it's flattering for all body types, but in the occasion you are bustier and find a dress that's more fitted at the top, remember the key is in the waistline.
Numero très is the ultimate trick to determining which sheer maxi is right for you. Notice how you can't really tell what I'm wearing underneath? I'm actually wearing a nude bralette and nude high-waistedshapewear briefs. The reason I'm able to pull this off without completely exposing myself is all in the fine print. Literally! This floral pattern is so busy making it more difficult to see what's underneath. This VIPshopdresscame with a white slip; however, I thought it took away from the dress's beautiful details, so I substituted it with these undergarments. If you're not comfortable with that, don't fret! Just wear a slip instead at a length you feel comfortable with. Whether it be a slip or a bralette, I recommend wearing a color that matches your skin tone so it doesn't clash with the print and stays consistent.
That's how it's done, my friends. Snap snap.
*SIDE NOTE: This dress comes in small, medium and large, and I'm wearing size small. I'm a true xs/0, but this dress fits perfectly and has tons of room. If you're in-between sizes, I recommend going with the smaller size.
LET'S TALK ACCESSORIEs.
These black earrings by BaubleBar are super chic. If I had to choose any piece of jewelry to wear, it would definitely be statement earrings. They're my band aid, and can instantly transform any outfit. P.S. If you're looking for affordable jewelry, BaubleBar is the answer. They have hundreds of styles to choose from and are setting a lot of the popular jewelry trends you see today.
As always, I'm sporting my favorite go-to cuff and ring by Julie Vos. I'm obsessed with all of her pieces, and they're meant to be stacked. #armcandygoals
I'm sure you've seen this wooden bageverywhere, but with reason. It goes with every single outfit, is a head-turner and is super affordable. It comes in a small and large size and I'm wearing the small. It has tons of room, and is perfect for any occasion. I added a navy scarf to give it a little pop and bring out the navy bows in my dress. It's also available in red and black.
PRO TIP: Add a scarf to any bag to give it a quick facelift. Have fun with different prints, colors and textures to always keep things interesting.
I've been living in these bow sandalslately, and they're only $19! Unfortunately they're sold out in the gold, but are available in black. I linked similar gold bow sandals here: SAVE / SPLURGE
