These are the words that come to mind when I think of icons like Jackie-O, Audrey (my fave), and Lady Di. But what makes them so iconic? Is it their status? Perhaps. Maybe their sense of style? That certainly helps. I'll tell you... More than anything, it's the way they carry themselves. It's a certain kind of confidence. An attitude or charisma. Call it reassurance of oneself.
Having access to the world's finest fashion can make anyone look elegant, right? Wrong. Money doesn't buy class, darlings. And it CERTAINLY doesn't buy style or taste. Have you ever seen something in a store that's hideous (yes I went there), but the price tag is the equivalent of your mortgage? I'll pass, thank you very much...Remember, it's not about who or what you wear, but how you wear it.
The beloved Audrey can be found in many photos wearing a simple black long sleeve shirt and pants, while still looking chic as ever. No jewels, no fancy anything, just herself. Point being, you don't have to dress extravagantly to be chic. You just have to be you.
I'll admit, some of my outfits are a little daring and maybe just a tad over the top, but it's the never for the purpose of turning heads. As an aspiring designer, putting outfits together is a form of art, and a way to express my creativity and push limits. At the end of the day though, I always feel my best when I keep my outfits classic and understated.
Ring by Audaviv, my go-to multi-brand online destination for jewelry. I opted for the rose gold because I don't have much of it, but it's also available in gold and silver (they look amazing when you stack all colors!) Use my code "CESTLESTYLE" for 20% off all orders!
I absolutely LOVE the details of this dress by Premonition. From the elegant neckline to the cutouts, it's chic, sophisticated and sexy all-in-one. The best part is that it's very diverse, and doesn't scream a specific occasion. You can wear it anywhere - a date, night out with friends, cocktail event, etc. This is really hard to find in a dress. I used to style clients for a living, and finding not even the perfect dress, but a good dress, is a challenge in itself, which is usually from lack of selection versus not fitting properly. If you're a woman who's been dress shopping, you know the struggle is REAL...
Unfortunately, this specific dress is unavailable, but don't fret. I've linked the same pattern but in a long sleeve dress here. They have so many similar alternatives that are equally amazing. Shop here.
I've been wearing this white clutch by FARRAH + SLOANE everywhere. The hand woven gold fabric adds a little sparkle, giving you the option to wear it with a more dressy outfit, while the tassel adds a "fun and flirty" element. All of their bags are the highest of quality, innovative and truly unlike anything I've seen on the market...Especially their fringe collection. Some of which have tassels that measure 2 feet long! Don't believe me? See for yourself. They are FAB-U-LOUS, and I need ALL of them.
One thing I always look for in a clutch is that it has a crossbody option. This bag doesn't have that, but it has something even BETTER... a handle that you can keep around your arm all night long without having to think twice or worry about losing your bag. Sign me up! My clutch also comes in a black and white check style, and another style here.
Red tassel earrings by BaubleBar (available in 24 colors... #saywhat?!) I'm DYING over all of their earrings lately, which I've featured on the blog many, many times.
My mantra is "the best accessory a woman can wear is confidence." So keep your head, heels and standards high, ladies. Looks fade, but true beauty lies within you.
