Being a blogger is tons of fun. I'm constantly playing dress up, going from event to event and meeting to meeting. It's a dream job that's extremely rewarding, but exhausting to say the least if you don't give yourself a break (guilty). But I wouldn't change it for the world. My journey thus far has been incredible, and I'm just getting started. Within just one year of blogging, I've learned so much about myself on both a career and personal level, and it's really neat to watch my style evolve at such a rapid pace since I'm putting multiple looks together on a weekly basis. But it's not always easy...
Every now and then I have writer's block, and even wardrobe block (aka. not knowing what to wear for my next post, etc.) When I was shopping around for a skirt to pair with this Alix bodysuit, I had no idea what I was looking for. I didn't want to take away from it, so I was was looking for a simple black skirt, but nothing seemed to give me that giddy feeling inside. You know, the one where you try on the most amazing piece of clothing on that fits you perfectly, compliments your figure and makes you do a double take like, "hello good lookin'!"
I stumbled upon this gem of a skirt by Maje( my favorite), and it immediately caught my attention. I almost didn't pick it up because I thought it would never match, but it was too pretty to resist. The moment I slipped it on, it was love at fist sight. I felt like a Cinderella, or a kid at Christmas. It was a really special moment. I was shocked to find how the most unexpected color combination of the maroon and dust blue worked so beautifully together.
I love how my skirt effortlessly sways when I twirl and shimmers in the light. It's unlike anything I've seen in a while from fabric to shape, and is truly a work of art.
You all know how much I LOVE bows, which is one of the reasons why I'm #obsessed with this bodysuit. The bow was a deal-breaker. I had to have it. I was taking it home with me. End. Of. Story. The open back detailing is so feminine and elegant, and I love the wine colored velvet fabric.
Unfortunately, it's no longer available, but they have so many styles you can chose from here, not to mention they have the most AMAZING swimsuits that I can't wait to get my hands on for summer. The Swim 2017 lookbook preview is available, or you can shop their current swimsuits here.
What I love most about ALIX suits is their quality, which is super important to me, because I'm all about good fabric and longevity. Their styles are unique and can be with worn with anything - a midi skirt and heels for a night out with the girls, or a pair of boyfriend jeans and a Moto jacket for a cool girl look going wherever (because cool girls don't need an occasion...they dress up to go to grocery shopping #guilty...)
So this adorable little pink clutchby Delage is my new go-to bag (other colors available.) It's light enough to pass as a neutral, while still offering a pop of color.P.S. it has a crossbody chain, which is something I always look for in a clutch to give me the option of a day-to-night look. Going back to quality, Delage is no rookie to the luxury handbag world. In fact, they've been around for nearly a century, and originally began as an automotive company, producing some of the most beautiful cars in the 20s and 30s. Their ideals of craftsmanship, elegance and sustainability really shine through their products, and you can feel it in the quality when you hold one of their bags. Read their full story here.
I look for inspiration everywhere - music, travel, new people I meet - to determine my next blog post. So tell me... What do you guys want to see more of or want me to cover? Let me know in the comments below!
