As a fashion blogger, it's my job to stay current with the latest trends, but I don't always follow them. I occasionally incorporate relevant styles into my outfits; however, putting together an outfit has always been a form of art and to see how creative I can get versus being concerned if it's "in" or not.
When it comes to rules, why limit yourself when you can have it all, be it all, and just be fierce? (*Cue hair flip*...you go girl!)
The best part of fashion is breaking boundaries and experiencing with different looks, and it's all part of your journey to grow within your own style. And all of those "what was I thinking?" moments (we've all been there) shape you into the person you are today... embraceit.
Fun fact:Would you believe me if I told you I used to be a total tomboy? (gasp!) Skimboarding , skateboarding, snowboarding, yes I do it all... I refused to wear a dress, and then woke up one morning my sophomore year of high school and decided I wanted to wear heels, and that's how it all started (face palm). All of my friends reading this remember...
Now for the more important/less embarrassing details...
Rules are meant to be broken. For example, in today's look I'm mixing all sorts of metals - gold and silver jewelry by Artsy Jewels, a gold and silver clutch, and metallic copper jeans (that's right, I went there). There's an ongoing preconception that gold and silver don't match. I beg to differ, but it has to be done right so everything flows smoothly without clashing.
I'm completely crushing over this gold and silver Milly clutch! Take it from the expert designer, herself, who agrees that gold and silver work well together!
I'm particularly loving all of these trendy pieces by Artsy Jewels. How did I make it work with the mixed metals? Simple!
All of the gold pieces, including my earrings and necklace, are 14K gold plated, except for the bangle, which is 18K, so it looks like a set with the similar finishes.
I'm also wearing a rose gold bangle and silver bangle (more options), both of which are embellished with cubic zirconia to effortlessly tie in the pavé of the gold bangle. I carefully selected pieces that have some similarities to bring the look together...super easy!

Let's talk outfit details...
We all know I'm not a bargain shopper, but I've been landing some seriously great details lately (knock on wood)! This ruffle top in particular is from Romwe, and I'm in love (P.S. it's only $13)! It's so fun and festive with the adorable ruffle sleeves and bottom! Not to mention the crisscross back adds the perfect touch and gives it a little something "extra"... I can always count on finding something really cute and trendy for a small price at Romwe.
This sequin jacket from SheIn is totally signed, sealed and approved for the holidays! And I love how it matches my metallic jeans perfectly! It's a great alternative to the simple black sweater we always throw on over our outfit when it's chilly out. This piece is a show stopper, and is great for any holiday and New Year's parties. SheIn has tons of other unique pieces at affordable prices that you can shop here.

As for rules, I tend to bend them because where is the fun if you limit yourself based on what others deem acceptable? The greatest designers, and those who are leaders in their craft in general, are successful simply because they break the rules. Be yourself, be fearless, and you will be unstoppable.
